Self Care & Fitness Regimen with Uber
These past few months, I have had a growing emphasis on fitness and a cleaner/healthier regimen. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week — and my routine consists of weight training, cycling classes, and pilates. The beautiful part about living in Los Angeles is that I’m also able to partake in outdoor activities year-round. I am undoubtedly happiest when I can be outside & enjoying the warm weather!
I found a local group that I now hike with each week. This is the ultimate way that I have found that I can treat myself — the combination of enjoying the outdoors and being kind to my body sets the tone for my entire week! Uber makes my weekly hikes incredibly convenient with their Scheduled Rides feature. The night before my hike, I simply schedule my ride in advance. With this feature, you have the option of scheduling a ride anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 days in advance.
In order to schedule:
1. Tap the car icon with the clock located just to the right of the “Where to?” bar. Select a date and a 15-minute window of time
2. Tap SET PICKUP TIME
3. The pickup location will automatically set to your current location. Tap “Current Location” to edit the pickup location. You’ll have to move where the cursor is set.
4. Set your destination
5. Review your fare estimate and tap SCHEDULE.
For me, this feature is incredibly conducive to my lifestyle — especially since most mornings I’m running around frantically trying to squeeze in a breakfast before the day ahead.
So by the time the morning of the hike comes, I just grab my protein bar, water, and jump in my uberX. Most of the locations where we hike, have minimal available parking available – so Uber really is the most favorable option. In some of the hiking locations, cellphone service is also sporadic, so I make sure to use the scheduled rides feature to also schedule my estimated pick-up time as well!
